Measuring 5 cm (1.9 inches) and less than 0.000125 mm or .13 microns thin, the goldleaf disintegrates in the mouth without flavor, but beautifully enhances edible delights.

To Use: The loose leaves of edible gold leaf (E175) are separated with tissue paper. You can gently slide the leaf out of the book and directly onto the food item or can be picked up using a gilding brush, paint brush or tweezers to apply in a more direct fashion. As the gold leaf is incredibly thin it will adhere to any moist surface.

To apply to fondant: first you need to make your fondant tacky by applying steam or moisture. Carefully apply the loose leaves to the cake surface & use a soft brush to run over the sheet making sure it's applied. These sheets are better for more rustic & random designs.

Avoid touching edible gold leaf with your hands or fingers, as it will stick directly to you. Do not use with high air circulation such as a fan or your gold leaf will blow away or wrinkle.

*Edible 23 kt Gold Leaf is available in different forms, known as food coloring agent E175, as designated by the European Commission (EC). There are no restrictions in Canada and Europe regarding the permissible daily allowance of these products, however it is not intended for daily consumption. But should be used as selective decoration, and for occasional use.
